Small Publishers Fair

It was great to meet people at the Small Publishers Fair in the Conway Hall, London, over the past weekend. Some of the usual poetry addicts were otherwise engaged at an Olson conference, but there was a good attendance nevertheless, undaunted by the competing attractions in the capital of the Lord Mayor's Show and the rugby international at Twickenham. 



This is me taking part in a mini-Bill Griffiths showcase for the Collected Earlier Poems. My co-publisher on this book, Alan Halsey of West House Books, arranged for himself and me to read Bill together with Will Rowe and Harry Gilonis. So, briefly and gloriously, Bill came alive once again. Then Richard Makin's preview of his forthcoming Reality Street book Dwelling was eerily backdropped by the sound of the Lord Mayor's fireworks. And Johan de Wit read in tandem with Juli Jana.

My next venture abroad is to Manchester, where I am reading at The Other Room with Neil Addison and Louise Woodcock on Wednesday 1st December.
