and the sonnet is not dead

The ripples created by The Reality Street Book of Sonnets are still spreading nearly three years after its publication. Robert Sheppard has just concluded a 14-part on-line dissertation on "The Innovative Sonnet Sequence" which is in large part an extended review of this excellent volume. I'm not sure it adds a great deal to Jeff Hilson's exemplary introduction to the anthology, but it's worth reading nonetheless. The anthology is not as readily available in the US as I would like, and I am considering re-publishing it under RS's present Lightning Source regime, when resources allow. By the way, contrary to reports, it was I who introduced Ted Berrigan to Sir Thomas Wyatt back in the last century, the fruits of which meeting were published in 2003.
